Default Turn Signal Switch Help

Hello All-

I'm looking for a replacement turn signal switch for my 65 Star Chief. I want the whole switch, not just the replacement cam piece. I see they are available, but every one I've seen has the turn signal lever that attaches with a screw through the top whereas on my Star Chief, it simply threads in to a lug underneath (behind) where the screw-on ones attach. I can't tell from the online pics whether or not the new switches I've been looking at have this threaded lug or not, but it doesn't look like they do. Has anyone run into this before? Thanks for your help!

I'll try to add pics when I can, but I made the mistake of downloading Windows 10 and now I can't import from my phone.

Good pics. Was it much of a job to get it out of the column tube (with the wiring and connector terminals)?

This is a frankenswitch I made. The switch and wiring harness is the same as the a body switch, but the base is different. So I removed the switch from a M&H 65 A body unit and stuck it on the B body base

Eta the b body switches I've come across had a screw and not a rivet attaching the switch to the part the turn signal lever screws into

So are you saying that the B body switches do, in fact, come with the threaded "lug" but attach by a screw instead of a rivet? Or do I have to remove that "lug" from my original switch and drill and tap it to accept that screw? Can you tell me where you found that B body switch? Thanks for your help!!!!

You have to reuse the whole aluminum base from your existing switch. You can "unroll" the three places where the switch body is swedged to the base, and stake them back over when you have mounted the new plastic switch and wire harness. I'm the case of yours, you may need to drill and tap the barrel that the turn signal lever mounts to.

I used the M&H switch for a 65 tempest floor shift to steal the switch part. Bad news is they cost $80

Got it. I have no issue with spending 80 bucks for a new switch.....if it were the right switch and ready to bolt in. I may have to buy an A-body switch and modify it as you said. I'll put some feelers out and see if I can maybe find a used or NOS switch first. Thanks again for all your help!
