Default 1970-81 Formula steering wheel collar restoration

I recieved back my 1972 Formula steering wheel collar restored by NORWOOD, I am almost speachless..it is beyond what I expected..an exact match to the original finish!..how does he do it?..after several pathetic attempts on my part, I found out he restores them...and there is a differance in this correct looking finish as the new pre painted ones from P.Y. and the like...I had one and send it back...any way, thanks again NORWOOD and now I can steer my car!!

Default my restored collar

I am convinced no one is commenting because they are all jealous...you should see it with my better than O.E.M. Lecara leather wrapped Formula steering wheel w/repop horn cap w/original firebird emblem...in a few weeks I will get some pics up for sure..but seriously, the finish is really well applied and one can tell it was well prepped because this finish is not gonna chip off!

Default Formula wheel repop

in case anyone is intrested, the wheel is $179 with free ship and available in many colour combos including gold S.E. from Lecaras website...mine is the black annodized and the spoke frame is an exact reproduction of the original...the wheel rim diamater is an exact match to the early style chubby rim as I have measured from my 1972 original wheel...with a repop horn cap, original emblem and NORWOODs restored collar, I dig it the most!!...and BENTWHEELBOBS Pontiac engine colour thread turned me on to the rattle can O.E.R. paint at $17 a can...Tienemans would be nicer, but a much higher cost and I would still need it in a spray can as I hope to not be pulling the engine anytime soon!..a vast improvement to my previous Plasticote that I thought matched other website pics..the O.E.R. looks better in person, the pix almost appear bluer,if there is such a word..and only the top and front of my engine are sprayed..I left the oil pan original...in fact I have a set of new bare steel valve covers from AMES and a correct oil cap from INLINE TUBE that I plan to spray and go for a dechromed look for a change
