Carter AFB Air Cleaner?!?
Does ANYBODY make a performance air cleaner for the carter AFB? I bought the crappy plastic Mr Gasket 4-9/16" X 5.25" adapter and a decent air cleaner but it rides all up into the insulation mat in the hood. Who's found a decent option breather for the AFB? THANKS. Hunter

You need one with a drop style base to make up for the spacer height!

Before I switched to the Tri-Power, I used to use the 66 Carter air cleaner base plate. a 3 inch air filter and a 67 chrome air cleaner lid. Kept the small air filter and the small 66 pancake air cleaner lid in the trunk. I would take it out and put it on while at shows and cruise nights.
I do not remember if I had a hood pad on it back then. The original pad was in bad shape and kept drooping so I took it off. Not sure when I replaced it.

The factory AFB do have a small neck, I found a company that has aluminum machined adapter to use a regular air cleaner base.

You might ask Jon Hardgrove, Mr. "AFB" 1-573-392-7378 since he sells parts for those carbs. don't mention the "E" word....when taking about those carbs...
