Default VFN Formula Hood Clearance

Looking at putting a VFN Formula hood on my 74. It started life as a Esprit, so not worried about the fact it won't have the cowl vents. Curious if this hood offers more hood/air cleaner clearance than the regular factory hoods. Was looking at running a Performer RPM intake, but was told it won't clear a factory type hood.
