Default Exhaust manifold 496002 E - 75 455 T/A?

I have this exhaust manifold. It came in the trunk of my 78 W72. Is this for a 75 T/A with a 455? Can anyone give me an idea as to value? It's in very good shape, no cracks/repairs.

all these manifolds are getting harder and harder to find;
the date code would be needed to place model year.

If you have no use for it, can I suggest you find someone to pass it onto who can use it?

Code appears to be H297? And does the E on the end of the part # refer to anything specific?

I think the "E" is a mold identifier - the same part numbers for manifolds were used for many years.
August 29 1977 puts it as being for a 1978 model year engine.
So 78-79 400.
Also, keep in mind that ALL 1979 model year 400's were build and stockpiled during hte 1978 model year - there was NO 1979 model year Pontiac 400 engine production.

OK, perfect. Thank you for the help. This would be a non-W72 part, correct? The part #'s I found for W72 manifolds were different. This is just a garden variety 400 manifold then? Left side?

Not for sure if correct for W72?
495986 is the number for W72.

Your manifold should be for right side?

I'm missing that number for my exhaust page, should be adding it.
(seems to be for 1976 and up, possibly for all the other body styles including Firebird? A/B/F/X?)

good for you.
you might actually be surprised how much manifolds are starting to go for.
I'm glad you didn't toss them!
