Firebird 67 bumper issue
Hello,
I have tried several times to adjust the front grills with the bumper and I still have this huge gap. Also, I have to push hard the bumper on both sides to bolt it but without success. Is it a common fitment issue ? (It is stamped Made in Canada) Please see the picture, I need your help Thanks a lot Pierre Last edited by Pierre67; 09-10-2019 at 10:47 PM. |

Reproduction bumper?
I had mine rechromed with reproduction grills not a perfect fit for me either. I don't think I had a gap there however. Unfortunately I don't recall there being much adjustment in this area. |

I’ve seen similar issues with a reproduction bumper and grills. Never that bad. I believe that’s a stock bumper on yours if it’s made in Canada. Was it rechromed? Are the grills reproduction?

Those cars never lined up well from new. It takes a talented body guy many hours to get those looking even reasonable. Keep up posted.

I still have my 1st car a Firebird bought from my brother in 1978. Some bumpers were better than others. If they have been damaged and rechromed all bets are off. The bumper I have on it now, my friend literally found it in the dump. I have a reproduction one hanging with OEM grills in my garage. They don’t fit as well as the dump one.
