I recently purchased a new project car, it is my first Norwood car. When I was restoring my '78 I vaguely remember there was a difference in the jack color when comparing Van Nuys versus Norwood cars. The spare I have currently, which I know isn't original is not the flat, expandable space saver spare tire with the ink/printing stamped on the tread.

What is correct for a 1979 Norwood car?

Thanks Canamman! I really appreciate the pics. The spare looks like what I was expecting, however, the stamp on the tread is smaller and different than what I have seen on most space saver spare tires.

Now I know what I need! Anyone have one for sale?

Great pics. They aren't your typical space saver tyres which are 14", they needed the 15" to clear the rear disc option. Van Nuys tended to have black jacks in later years, it depended who the supplier was.

Make sure that the tire has the "VVCU" ink stamp.

This has a different tread pattern, and is a BF Goodrich supplied tire, but it would be technically correct.

If you have the broadcast sheet, in box 90, the VVCU will be present. See the sample broadcast sheet from a Norwood '79:
