I ran a Cam Dynamic 228/228 @ 0.050 in my stock low compression original 78 180 HP motor. It was lumpy with th estock lean calibrated Q jet smoothed out great with a 73 SD Qjet that had better idle circuit.

We finally got everything back from the machine shop, so we will get started putting this thing together before too long. A question about the installed position of the 2802 cam, Cam card says to install it at 109° Intake Centerline. Since we are installing it with everything brand new, including the billet Cloyes timing chain, should we put it in a little advanced, say 107°, to allow for a little chain stretch during break-in? Or just install it at 109° and let it end up wherever after a little chain stretch? Thanks!

In my opinion, advancing a street cam a tad is all good, not just for stretch, it calms a too big cam a bit, it lowers the power band a bit.

Best so far 1/8 et,8.90 on street tires,
Since that I have added 400 heads.
I call it a rat sleeper.
