Default 68 coolant bottle retrofit

Anyone know of a good catalog solution for adding an overflow bottle on a 68?

Lots of choices. Depends on your taste. Could be sneaky and hide one of those long thin aluminum cylinder tubes in front of the radiator if you don't want to look at it. Size matters if you're looking to pass NHRA tech.

On Dad's 69 he added a simple small plastic overflow bottle mounted over on the passenger side of the radiator since he frequents the track.

years ago, it was std practice at the race track to zip tie a pop can by the rad. and run the tube into it. Do not think you would get away with it anymore

Never tried it but if you are looking for the stock look, Olds offered an overflow kit in 71
Parts place sells a reproduction. Might have to do some fabrication and kind of pricey but should work

Yep used to do that decades ago, 12 ounce was the required minimum so I'd tie a pop can in there. They sort of frown on that behavior now

What Brian suggested is what I do now, look at a later model of the same body style and mount their overflow in, if you want a sort of factory appearance.

On my 70 Formula I mounted a 73 overflow bottle that conforms to the inner fender. Technically not correct for a 70 but it goes to the track fairly often and it's just nice to have something there permanent that I don't have to monkey with every trip to the track.

75-79 Nova had an overflow mounted under the passenger fender and bolted to the right fender lip. Just the fill spout stuck out.
You'll need the cap and the correct '73 or later radiator cap that allows for an overflow bottle

70-72 overflow jug fit a 68 just fine. Looks like a Wiper fluid bottle but itsa coolant bottle.

I still have the bottle that was mounted in mine when. It was mounted on the ds fender right behind the core support. I don't use one so it's just hanging around in the storage room.
