Default Rear spoiler end caps

Can someone possibly post some nice detailed pics of the shorter rear spoiler end caps
I have a set of caps from a newer year that I wish to shorten and somewhat mimic the shorter caps..
Pics on car showing length and end contour would be very helpful if at all possible.....thanks Chris

here are mine from my '72, one is an original factory short end cap. The other I'm pretty certain the body shop modified a later one I provided but they are the same angle visually and both are about 3/4" to the reference point from the top of the tail panel ends. Maybe someone else with the early spoiler end caps can post similar shots to verify if they measure the same

I just measured mine, and they're about 1" from the to the top of the tail panel ends. I have a reproduction tail panel though, so I'm sure there's a little variation going on.

Appreciate the pics ...it looks like the lower edge of the lower chrome of the tail light bezel is almost level to end of the spoiler cap or very close ....thanks

I fixed one for a customers car as part of a project repairing wheel flares and other parts. Here's the pics.

Thanks Ben!

GRD777 If the question was how was the paint stripped then the answer is careful sanding for that particular job. I wanted to square up the top edge to make it crisper (but not square if that makes sense). You'll note that there's a very thin line of paint that hasn't been removed yet in the pic above. Before primer that edge was rounded slightly with finer sandpaper (because paint doesn't like sharp edges). IIRC most of the paint was removed with 80 grit on a DA till thin and then 180 by hand to remove the paint to bare plastic before priming/blocking.. I knew the car the parts came off of was painted around 1990 and the parts weren't fully stripped at that time so I didn't want problems occurring due to any of the older paints so they were all stripped.

I've also sandblasted these types of parts and every job is different depending on condition of the parts themselves, previous repairs, previous paint etc. as well as timeline & budget.

Here's a link to a thread on paint work done to the group of parts that end cap was included with. http://forums.maxperformanceinc.com/...d.php?t=800522

I do quite a bit of work like this. I'm currently finishing up a job replacing the trunk pan, torque boxes, frame rails etc. on a 67 Camaro RS SS convertible and stripping & prepping a 70-72 Firebird Enduro bumper.

I don't know if it would help, but I have an early spoiler in my garage not attached to anything, if there is some specific picture I could take for you, I would be happy to help.

I think I have everything needed it was more about the finish on the ends not being straight cut but somewhat rounded over ....I want it to look close to what it should be....if possible
