Cool Labor Day Fun with a PSI calculation

Sparky got Slicks mounted to rims and set PSI to 15.00 LB each, per a trusted Gauge, while off the ground. Slick&Rim weight 20LB, and when set on ground shows a 9"x 3" contact patch while awaiting install.

When installed to car, the Slicks show a 10" x 8" contact Patch, and Rear Scales read 700 LB each.

--> Sparky checked each laiden Slick PSI with that trusty gauge; What is the new PSI reading?
(assume room temperature was constant on all items) Go

Somewhere north of 15.00 PSI. I just don't know the calculation, nor the answer. Thanks for playing.

700 Lb on (10" x 8") is 700/80 is 8.75 PSI
20 Lb on (9" x 3") is 0.7 PSI.

I think the 15.00 PSI will budge to 15.01 PSI with a 1351 LB load that also produces an assume slightly larger (10" x9") contact patch, for each tire.

Representing a load just a tad higher than our atmoshperic pressure.

Therefore Leeklm & Johnta1 were BOTH CORRECT. You two are both Winners.
