Yes ..... All traditional stuff. About 530 cid, Stage 3 heads aftermarket block. There's an old video from a few years ago and some engine pictures on my FB page. Also a video of him racing Tuff Enuff a year or two ago.

You are so sly .... Believe me, I'm well aware you don't have the mental capacity to make three worthwhile posts in a row.

Four guys asked you questions since your last post. You said you are willing to help why don't you answer them? |

Not sure why its contentious though. This thread is about as cast High Ports right ? 600 HP with them is not hard to do. 265 cam can not pull iron heads to 8400RPM Blank needs more converter to get where he wants to be. More lift might help, more gear might help, but start at the converter. (and with 93 octane he should have 72cc heads and be at 11.7 CR) Bill should not cam his High Port engine with 2 bolt mains and steel rods to a 7500RPM engine. That is all true, so why the contention ? I will not kiss your ring Paul, I will not tug my forelock, I will not say your are "the man" Paul. THAT is what it is all about. |

You have a 2 bolt 455 block and doing that is a bad idea. That is all I am trying to say. And check your piston to valve. |

I followed a suggestion from Mike too, got drag radials and never looked back. Car picked up.

We all know Mikes story and what he went though doing it. All the big dogs, big RPM guys have 40K+ dollar engines. Some a LOT more. This thread is about "As cast High Ports" is it not. That takes big RPM off the table. Especially since they are listed at 330cfm when people actually flow them on different benches they are more like 315-320 cfm. I am sure you do not believe turning a cast crank, 2 bolt 455 with steel rods to 7500RPM is the best idea either. So what is the problem ? We all love seeing the big names spinning their 2nd mortgage worth engines to the moon. Only a handful can afford it. Most have been divorced or no wife. So the rest of us have to get by with reasonable RPM. BTW, I wish you posted more around here. Even if you do not agree, discussion is good. |

Do you actually race ? We all know the answer is NO. My engine building ? Well, everything I have done has been with one engine, all the wins. Still running. Now the engine I am doing now ? I think I can make more power than your dyno sim showed (thanks) I will let you all know. It will be interesting right ? And you know, I have never said I have anything for the heads up guys. They set the bar. |

Engines last a long time doing that. Goal is to run low 10s and keep it below 7K and to let it spin up higher if I want to run faster. Not interested in putting this engine in the high risk category. Even though it should take it. |

Some day you may learn the difference between pulling / shifting at 8400 RPM and making peak HP at 8400 RPM and shifting over 9000 RPM. Maybe John Langer will weight on just how much $$$$ that cost him. Stan
