Part number lookup shows this. Looks like it was definitely intended for the deck lid.

I'm still interested in acquiring this badge... if someone here bought it, and would part with it, I'd earnestly appreciate you consider me

My guess is a batch of twenty-five or so of these badges were made (or what ever the minimum that would have been required), and just as the cars were starting production, someone decided the badge wasn't needed; So the parts went into "parts" inventory and probably languished... Other early parts that immediately come to mind is hte black faux leather knob with the red inserts; there was a four speed one, and a three speed one.

You know you've gone off the deep end when you buy an NOS relay for an overdrive and you don't even have the overdrive! But, at $39 I just couldn't resist.
https://www.ebay.com/itm/Ford-Overdr...53.m2749.l2649 Check out this other one for sale for $239 plus shipping. I think they saw I paid $39 for mine so they added $200 to it for theirs. This is not the same relay, I promise you. https://www.ebay.com/itm/NOS-1965-19...kAAOSwCk9bVfyg Chad

Bob, can you send MPD this way for a couple of months?
On but not adjusted yet. My Dad is now by himself at his house these days so I've been spending a lot of time with him and I come home with so much of his stuff every time that my garage is now stuffed to the rafters and I don't have enough room left to change my mind! I'll have to start getting rid of stuff before I can get back to working on it. I did take an NOS drivers sport mirror shell (did you know they varied some) and an NOS rear trim panel to the same place the car was painted at years ago and they are getting those done. I've also taken apart my NOS taillights and painted the edges of the rechromed bezels so those are about ready to put back together. Making some headway, but I am having challenges, too. I also got a couple of parts for the truck painted. The Sauterne Gold is not too bad of a color in a BC/CC finish. Contrast that with the Wimbledon White and it should look sharp. The other piece is the gravel guard painted in Argent Silver. Chad

MPD has an aversion to the Left Coast, but First Class airfare speaks volumes. He’s currently dissatisfied with me because I have taken a break in honor of summer, my bank account, and my family. He’s getting tired of rebuilding large Cat fuel pumps and is anxious for more Pontiac time.

that was a neat video;
I liked the clay model of the '70 Firebird - with a flat hood on the passenger side, and Formula scoop on the drivers side... and curved rear glass!

There is nothing that says this "badge" is "Formula specific" ( RE the title of this thread) .
