Default 69 fender emblem doesn't fit

I ordered a couple fender emblems for my 69 made from the parts place and they don't fit. They look nice but the placement pins are off location. My broken original fits the holes fine, is there another brand I can try?

I've run into that with various cars so it's not a new thing or brand specific. I have a 72 El Camino here now I'm restoring and the owner pre-bought the fender emblems None of them line up with the original holes in the fenders. Now I have to weld holes and redrill because he can't send them back and doesn't want to buy another set.

When I painted dad's 69 GTO he bought new fender emblems and they fit the original holes perfectly. I believe he got them from Ames. Good quality and fitment.

Some of the stuff out there is just junk.

I replaced all my '68 emblems with stuff from Ames/PY and no issues with any of them on my original sheetmetal.

Yeah I'm finished with all my bodywork so I'm definitely not welding up the existing holes! I'm going to try the ames versions and see if they fit. Do they have the little inserts for the emblem holes too?

I think you are referring to barrel clips. I buy them in bulk, different sizes.

Here's just one ebay store that sells them. Yes some of the classic car retailers have them as well.
