Where are the date codes and what am I looking for? There's a small chance I may have some.
Eric

Eric - Hi, See the attached picture, On the top side of the fender there is a stamp that contains the date code. The position can vary (see red arrows in the picture). The stamp has 7 digits the first 3 digits identify the month. For example 10A would be the first week of October. 11B would be the second week of November etc... The last digit or two digits are the year. a 78 would obviously be 78. I have also seen the year truncated to one digit. 8 would be "78". Since my car was built in January of 1978, ideally I would be looking for fenders made between October and December of 1977. But a late 77 or early 78 fender is what I am looking for.

It annoys me when people don't respond (when they said they would) and I just realized I'm one of them. Apologies.
The junk '77 that I have has no discernable date code on the fenders and I also found out that it had been wrecked and repaired. Maybe some sort of reproduction fenders or service replacements? At any rate, they were in fair condition and my body guy wanted them so I let him have them. Hope your search is successful. Bump. Eric
