I need to put a new rear end under my 68 GTO.
I located a 68 Chevelle 10 bolt posi with a "FK" code. It's a 3.08 ratio, which is ok by me since the car is strictly a street cruiser. Is this a decent rear end? Again, I'm NOT going to race the car, but I don't want to go through the trouble of changing the rear end to one that's a "lemon". Thanks in advance! |

If it's in good mechanical condition put it in and have fun. Can't be much worse than the Pontiac 8.2 rear that you're replacing, as long as you don't beat on it too much it should be fine.

Don't forget the Chevy uses a smaller u-joint. You will either need to get the Chevy driveshaft or a hybrid u-joint from Spicer or others that has 2 BOP and 2 Chevy ends.
