What was the white or black seam filler that they used to fill all the seams around the firewall and cowl on '69 GTO's?? Also, what should I replace it with, if anything? Thanks Much

3M makes a couple of really nice urethane composite seam sealers.
They'll last about 10 times longer then the old acrylic's G.M. used back then. You can use either the cartridge type, or a brushable. Personally I prefer the cartridge series, seems to be a little easier to work with. To acheive the proper "brush on" effect. I'll follow over the sealant with an acid brush dipped in lacquer thinner. how wet you keep the brush, can determine how "rough" the necessary texture will be. More thinner, smoother finish

I had a bitch of a time finding black seam sealer last year! Everyone had the white & the tan, but the black... Good luck.
I finally found an old auto body supplier in Chicago that had 6 tubes left. Bought all on the spot. SECOND AMENDMENT: AMERICA'S ORIGINAL HOMELAND SECURITY. I Misus Rash'!
