Norwood, mine had the staple as well, but I'm just gonna live with the adhesive, like Keith.

When you use the yard stick for the welting doesn't paint risk cracking when it gets bent around during install?

Use a flex agent in the paint...Fortunatley, there are not any "sharp" bends in the spoilers.

You paint the spoiler welting with flex agent. You can tie it in a knot and it won't crack! You don't want to use flex agent on the spoilers because they are hard plastic.

It really does work that well? I'm not too worried about the welting because my biggest concern is the nose. You know right there on top where they get those half moons. You know, everybody tries to lean their hands as they drool over the engine.

Adding flex agent to the paint works great. The factory did it to the nose when these cars where new.

The half moons on the nose is due to old age of the paint or by not using flex agent during a repaint(as is the case on my '73 T/A)

I painted my front nose and spoiler welting with flex in the Deltron Urethane back in '94 and it still looks like it did then! It stays in the garage, but I have put over 5000 miles on it and no problems. Like Dennis said put flex on the nose and welting and no flex on hard parts. That is why I paint the welt seperate from the spoilers.

My 70 T/A nose was painted 15years ago with laquer and flex. It,s not perfect but still very presentable. Only a few places show any cracking
