Just FYI, somebody on here posted a link to AMK Products a long time ago. I have used them for several hard to find fasteners, and have been very happy with their quality.

I believe you are looking for J & U nut retainers and they have got almost any size you want.

HTH,
Ogre

Probably me, but.. they have minimums. Think its $50 bucks plus shipping.
These are 3/8" thread clips. If the clip is not FLAT on the car side it will gouge the paint. The factory used a small foam square on ALL the mounting points to protect the paint. Pic is a A NON flat incorrect clip.

That style with a welded assembly (nut welded to spring) may not be available new/repro. You might have to settle for the "extruded" style or chase used.

I just looked for a similar style for a different application and struck out.

The extruded style should be easy to find and if, as others have asked, you share the thread size and pitch, you might find a willing benefactor. Functionally, the extruded type will be just as strong initially but if they corrode, the extruded style could fail faster and lose clamping force. The nut style will still have a nut even if the spring rusts away, so they were probably a good design... just don't seem to be available anymore.
