Default fuel flow question

no point in going to -08 or 10 lines if my fuel pump and regulator use 3/8NPT fittings correct??

its just going to choke it down soon as it runs into the pump and regulator,,,,, i would need to move up to 1/2NPT fuel pump and regulators... correct?

thanks

Use the big hose, the inlet/outlet ports are a very small restriction. If a restriction is kept very short it will not cause much problem, especially on the high pressure side.

My 3/8'' inlet/outlet/reg. ports flow more than enough fuel for my 462 (i use 1/2'' S.S. hardline for the whole system).

Not true they will not choke it much if at all. The comp 140 pump and regulator come with 3/8 npt fittings and they recommend 1/2 in line. Also when i bought my gas tank sump it came with 1/2 npt and it was way bigger than 1/2. so go with the 3/8 npt

NPT threads are large because the pipe is measured by the inside diameter, Tubing and AN are measured by outside diameter.

You should use a return as big or bigger to prevent restriction on the return side, for some reason most products have a return one size smaller.

Check your free flow, you need a minimum of 1/2 gallon in 15 seconds. JD
