My radiator support is competely rusted where it bolts to the drivers side frame rail. What years will interchange with it and will Camero support work. And does any body reproduce these?
Thanks Jim |

Thanks for the reply but I have had no luck with classic ind. or PY. They are in production and not in stock. So I guess its off to the bone yards, I just hope I can find one in better shape than mine, but livng in NW WI its going to be like a shot in the dark.

2nd Gen Firebird V8 core supports are split up into following versions, & all '73+ will have a date code stamped on top, for the really picky:
-'70 1/2-72 -'73-early '76 -mid '76-81 As you have a '76 T/A, observe the bottom of your coresupport & how/where the bushings match up. The bottom of the coresupport design is what changed from early '76 to mid '76. Also, if yarding, be careful not to buy a used coresupport out of a straight 6 cylinder car. 2nd Gen Camaro coresupports are totally different, actually an early & late design on those as well. Not at warehouse today, but can take pics of bottom of 2nd Gen Bird coresupports to illustrate the difference, if needed.

OPH, So I guess the Camaro support is completely out of the question. As for the Firebird/TA, Will all of the V-8 2nd Gens work? I am not picky, I just need something that will work for my 76 front end. Thanks

Maybe try some of the Arizona New mexico yards, like desert dog Auto parts.

Jim,
Mid to late 2nd Gen V8 Bird coresupports are still out there in decent numbers, no reason to pay monster bucks out of AZ. Solid '70 1/2-72 V8 Bird coresupportss are for the most part, a tough find & will cost, no matter where they are found, if solid. If your '76 is the late style, any solid late '76-81 Firebird solid coresupport will work. Might have an extra, will double ck tomorrow.
