It's from a car in a junkyard. What is the engine and where did you find the code for it? The VIN appears to read: 2W87Z6N5573XX. This is the second VIN I've found using online decoders that doesn't indicate what engine it is.
Thanks.

Doug

So it's okay that it's a 76 VIN and the Z is a 77-79 engine code? Okay.

The 400 "Z" code was also used in '76. Rocky probably knows more.

1976 did use "Z" in the VIN for 400. I've not seen any other letter in all the VIN's I have collected.

Scott's VIN decoder tells me it's not valid is why I was curious. Thanks all.

'Z' should be for the 400 in 1976.
'W' would be for the 455 in 1976.
