Skip when you did this were you able to reinstall the fender well without modification?
I'm trying to avoid the 3 inch trim mentioned in the herb adams info. I think 255/60/15s are what will end up on the front of my 73 also. I'm too old for tire rubbing. It sucked back in the 80's and I'm sure i'd like it less now. Gordy

On the '79, I run 275 50 on 8" snowflakes withOUT "massaging" the seat belt bumps. No clearance issues at all.

I checked out your link but did not see the car. I am about to acquire 4 WS6 Snowflake rims and want to get the biggest rubber on them I can without rubbage. Also.....I'm probably going to have two WS6 Snowflake Rims for sale here shortly. They have the normal wear (paint mostly gone etc etc.) but no curb rask as far as I can remember. I will be posting pic's when I do place them for sale. Anyone know what the going price of these rims are? Thanks! |

I thought there was a pic of it on the site....
Check in the other "albums" to see if its there. BTW, the big rubber is for the rears, I run 245-60 up front. They are the same diameter as the rears but not as wide.

No fenderwell cutting done. Pull it out and the area in the center between the two bolts is the worse area. Just slightly massage fender lip. I did it own a little more in front and rear. Then put fender well back in.
If you need new upper A arm bushings that's the time to do it easy access without a fenderwell in. The only time I really had rear seat belt bulge issues was with 265-50-15s.

How about a price? Anyone know what the wheels are worth in non-restored state?

I'm running the 295/50R15's on 8 inch snowflakes on my 72. Bent in the seatbelt hump with a hammer. I only get rubbing with over 25 psi in the air shocks or with peaple in the rear seats.
Do a search in the early 70's firebird section. I had posted a picture of the 295's in that section before.

Here is a pic of my car with 265/50-15s on 15x8 WS6 snowflakes. I have no clearance problems, but the tires look too short on the car, too much open space in the wheel wells (IMO) - it really needs to be lowered.
