Default ebay - Nice '70

Here's a nice unmolested '70 Firebird. Looks like a nice straight CA car.. Wouldn't mind having it...but will more than likely go for way more than I wanna pay...

Cool car. The a/c compressor and jack are both still there, which is rare since it seems one or both are always missing.

Why would you not want a prospective buyer to come and see the car. It is a lot to expect someone to spend $5k sight unseen.

I thought that was a little funny also.

Its butt ugly, but its a great foundation to something nice!

"CAR IS ACCIDENT FREE"

Well then what the heck do you call this? If it's not an accident it must be an "On-Purpose".

The driver side fender has been replaced, too (evident in one of the underhood pictures). So the claim of original paint is not entirely correct, either.

If I lived close, I'd go look it over, though

Another question is why would an original paint accedent free 1970 car have a 1973+ front fender? Oh, and you can't look at it!
Nice car but something doesn't smell right.

Fairly strong price considering it needed some endura / fender / tail piece repair. Also that it had no gauge, standard interior, chrome mirror, etc.... My guess is without body damage car would have been maybe 14-15K. This tracks where the market appears to be going IMO.

That's a strong price. Cool CA survivor in a striking color.

Mike, I would offer that not everyone who buys vintage cars has the same perspective as those that would only own high performance models. If someone can't afford a 35-60K collector hi-po model, how is a rust free nice 10-20K 70-73 a bad buy versus never owning a 70-73 or the option that one can buy a 10-20K hi po car that needs tons of expensive work, and then they can't afford the 20K needed to improve it (minimum, unless you pay people the 50K some do to do it all). 71GP referenced it was twice what he would pay. I do think something should be worth what it is worth TO YOU. So if this car is a 6K car to you, that is it's value to you. But I would counter that now, 6K rust free nice drivable 70-73 birds basically do not exist (unless a rookie is selling) and one should instantly buy any and all they stumble across at that price.

That's a lot of cash for that car. Its a great foundation for someone to build something cool on, but as stated above that's big money for a car that has no options or eye appeal.

But on the other hand T/A clones are rising in value. My guess is that's what this car is slated for.

Looks like I'm 5-7 years behind... I need to wake up and get with the program.... it wasn't all that long ago that you could buy a car like this for $3000. I remember looking at one about 10 years ago that was nicer than this one but had been sitting in a carport not driven for a few years.... Guy wanted $1500

Those days are gone.

Money is a bit high on this car but as stated if completely rust free would make a very nice patina'd driver after a few minor repairs (AC, etc.).
