My '64 shifter had about 75,000 miles on it when I took it apart recently. There was no sign of wear on any of the parts. The moving parts are hardened steel or spring steel. I can't imagine wear being an issue except for the external shifter rod bushings.

Which part(s) would you want to replace?

Default 64 shifter

Dick,

In the blow-up diagram it's labeled part #3. Mine was well worn but I reused it.

I know Jegs and Summit has some of the internal parts and Rick's Camaro has a complete rebuild kit for $89.99, which is a pretty good deal if you need the sleeve pin, shims, and isolators for 67 and later shifters. A seller on Ebay named "Hurst-Shifter" also has some of the various parts listed from time to time.

Ron, Jegs has the 3 piece shim kit for $34.99 if you need it down the road.
