Here are some .pdf artwork of the blue stripes with gradient (dot fade) pattern, and a couple of pictures of NOS stripes for comparison.

The blue stripe printed proofs will be made in the coming weeks.

First proofs of the blue stripes. Blue color is not right yet, but close. Also, the dot fade in the corners needs to be rounded instead of cornered.

I have a proof set of stripes ready to ship to Norwood next week. I'm going to take a proof set to the 'Run to the Alamo' at Harris Hill Raceway this Saturday Feb. 18 to show them to anyone who would like to take a look.

http://americanstreetcarseries.com/?page_id=207

If you are going on the Run feel free to PM me so I can look for you there.

Then, Monday I'll ship them to Craig for him to check out.

Attached are some pictures of the blue proof next to a NOS stripe.

I'm with you. Put the best product on the market, hopefully at a reasonable price, and that's the one we'll buy. This is how capitalism works -- if PG, et al had made sure things were correct in the first place, this wouldn't have become an issue. That goes with any aftermarket parts. We don't want junk.

Kudos for taking the time, 165th.

165th,

I will be there this weekend, but unfortunately without my car. It just arrived in Austin on Monday, but I haven't had time to do much with it yet.

If I can though, I will try to bring the white scoop which was supposedly painted to match the decal sample that you sent to Maine for me. If you have a sample of your white, we can see how close they match.

One cool opportunity to utilize the artwork will be to create one off custom colored stripes digitally. These are based on the black and white stripe pattern. This can be done fairly cost effectively so single sets or even portions of a set such as the hood stripe only or bird only can be made in custom colors easily. All that will be needed is the PMS color you would like to have on the stripes. The only constraint is white cannot be one of the color choices. It's the white color that forces the concour stripes to be screen printed vs. digitally printed.

These will be printed on the same clear 3M ControlTac film that the concours stripes will be printed on.

Since these are digital and not silk screened, I can do these now.

If anyone is interested in a set, let me know. I'd like to work with you to make a color selection and get a set applied on a car to see how the custom colors would look on a silver, red or other colored car.

Attached are some pictures of a few sample rear deck stripes I made just experimenting with color combinations to see how they would look.

The black/gray stripe is Black and PMS Cool gray 4
The gray/gray stripe is Cool Gray 9 and Cool gray 3
The gray/red stripe is Cool gray 7 and PMS 193
The black/red stripe is black and PMS 186

Here is a sample PMS color chart to compare how the colors look on a chart and in print:
http://www.theexecutivestores.com/PMS_Color_Chart.htm

I would welcome any comments or feedback on this topic.

That's great. Congratulations on getting your car back. I'll have the proof to compare to and maybe we can get some photos of the stripe and shaker together. Also, if you can bring the paint formula or color that was used on the shaker that would be helpful also.

Greg,
Thanks for your work and diligence on the stripes, they are looking great. Strive for Perfection...no regrets.

Those stripes are going to look good covering that hot rod 455HO.

Stay the course.

Jim

I'm looking forward to being able to get a hood stripe for my car. I'd really like to be able to put it on my car as soon as the weather breaks here in the great white north.
The progress looks good and I applaud your efforts to get it right!

Same here. I'd love to get rid of the combo set of inaccurate S$S and PG decals that are on my car. I am ready when you are!

There are some guys looking for custom color stripes.

Cheers,

I do have a complete Black and White strip, nose bird, fender and spoiler decals. They look GREAT. Greg is putting in GREAT effort into getting these as correct as possible. He is investing HIS TIME AND $$$$ into this. All of us who own 70-72 T/As need to support him on this. I'm not sure how many of these he needs to sell to break even but lets hope he can. I do not have a date that he will have these ready but I think it will be soon. I think that the custom color stripe will be very cool and open up a whole new avenue for people to personalize their car.

WoW! my Bird lost his Guts!!
You are right Craig, having a Car color or custom striping set should make this a moneymaker if not at least an easy recoupe of investment.
