76 Trans Am P/S pressure hose source
I am in need of a new P/S pressure hose for my car. When I recently replaced one on a 78 (which the same part number is cataloged) the hose was quite a bit longer and I was not real happy with the fit.
Any suggestions as to where to source one? Anybody have an NOS hose for a nice price? In advance, thanks for your consideration. Tim |

What brand did you use? Many only quote GM numbers as a replacement that works, not one that is exact. That way it often suits several models. Or else make one to suit.

I few years ago, for my 76 TA, I purchased my ps braided lines from March (P327 - Saginaw Power-Steering Hose Kit for GM Steering Box with Flare Fittings (1978 & Older) when I bought their ps pump (P304) etc. They worked perfectly for me, but I'm not sure it their OEM styled chrome pump has the same connections as the original pump. All good at the steering box ends.

I used a NAPA hose on the 78. It looks to be the same length as the Ames unit (and others)

The GM part number from a 1977 parts book is 7816969, and is listed as fitting 1971-76.
Partsvoice lists this dealer as having one: Craig Motors -Napa Gm NAPA, CA 94559 The Parts Place makes a repro of that part. However, buyer beware.
