Lost the passing gear function on the Turbo 400 in my ‘65 Catalina 2+2. Guessing problem has to be the momentary switch or the solenoid on the trans. I modified a 70’s. GP switch a few years ago to mount inside the car when I could not find the correct switch for TriPower set up. Can the solenoid be replaced without dropping the trans pan? Any other ideas about what may be causing this issue?

Verify that you have voltage going to the connector on the side of the trans with the key on and the switch maxed out.
The pan has to be dropped to replace the solenoid.

Steve, thanks for your response. If my switch is bad, do you know of something universal that I can make work?

The solenoid or switch? The 70's GP switch is readily available

Yep, I see that now that I’ve searched on line a little bit. hHope to test switch today. You Tube videos on replacing solenoid seem to show that process is not too bad should I need to do it. Car is already on drive on lift.
