Rear Disc Brakes?
I already installed a front disc brake conversion by Ben's.
I find myself in need of either a rear brake conversion or a place to source new rear brake components. I thought Scare Bird sold a rear brake kit but they are telling me no. What have you guys done? |

What are you looking for mike? Just getting shoes relined, cylinder overhaul? Just about everything is available. Disk brakes wont work on the rear of these cars due to the pivoting of the brake drum on the shoes as the rear suspension goes up & down.

At first I just wanted to completely rebuild my drum brakes. Replace everything pretty much. The costs of doing so was REALLY high. I thought for sure Scarebird had a 4 wheel disc brake kit for the 63 when I bought Ben's front disc brake kit.
I just called Ben again and he now has all the components I think I need to rebuild the drums. I think I will go that direction now. I still might be looking for new e-brake cables if anyone know where to find them/ |
