Default 2020 Corvette at Barret-Jackson

Just watched the 2020 Vette serial number 001 sell for $3,000,000 to Rick Hendricks.

Exactly! And for Children I’d call that anything except foolish! I’d call that a very awesome gesture.

I was impressed with the C8. I didn’t expect to like it as much as I did.

Always amazed by the generosity I see at events like this. Last week I was at a gala here in town to benefit an organization that helps kids with down syndrome, and I don't think there was anything in the silent auction that went for less than the item's value (e.g., $1000 for a $100 pair of sunglasses) and the live auction was just as remarkable (dinners and concert experiences going for over 10k).

Always a lot of nice cars at the scottsdale auctions, but I went this year primarily to check out the 2020 Corvette, they had several in different color combinations. Seriously impressed and awesome value considering how much R8s, NSXs, 540s, etc. go for--even used. I was hoping they would have one running at the drive and ride, but alas, my son and I had to settle for rides in a ZL1...Ford was giving rides in the new GT, amazing considering those go for $1 million.

Gee, Hendrick bought the first Vette again. Shocking!

His rediculous bid also went to a charitable organization therefore making it tax deductible. Shocking!

Great for the charity but does not say a thing about the Vette

I think it is great someone with money is so giving for charity.

A tax deduction is only that you don't pay the tax on the amount you donate. It's not like you get to reduce your owed taxes by that amount you gave. Still a large personal gift.

I don't think the auction was meant to say anything about the Vette except maybe as a debut PR tool. Pontiac did lot's of promo stuff, it is part of the game.

And more importantly: The new Vette is way cool.

Even though I am not a Vette fan I certainly cannot argue with that full post.
