Im actually taking the day off, sort of. After I finish up in the office anyway. My wife has been on this kick of buying stuff from FB so she has a trip planned that will keep us busy for a couple of hours picking stuff up, then were gonna finish at a legendary buffet. Never been there but I hear its good, AND im not a buffet person.

I am fascinated by the CrossFit movement. I think it’s awesome- but two things keep me from it. I’m not a particularly coordinated person and I think I would be injury prone. The other is that it’s very difficult to build size when there are so many body weight exercises. I think I will stick with weights and cardio but think CrossFit is cool for those that can do it.

Busy day today- got some office work to do, then gym, then parents night at my 9th graders basketball game. After that we are headed out for a cheer competition for my 7th grader.

Unfortunately no car stuff this weekend

We have one here in Lancaster that’s called Shady Maple biggest and best ever! Not far from there is an Auto mall that’s free admission, it’s right in Morgantown and located in what once was a huge indoor mall. It took us 2 1/2 hours to see it all. Cars on consignment, as well as private collections.

HA,HA.... Shady Maple is where we are heading!! First stop is Honeybrook, stop for dinner then a stop in Landisville. Been to the grocery store a number of times, they have an awesome bakery. Never been to the dinner though. I am very familiar with the area, know about the car place in Morgantown just havent been there yet, but its on my to do list. I think they have a car cruise in every wed evening throughout the summer.

Just got a load of brake parts myself, delivered yesterday for RA, planning on getting the front upgraded on my 79 this weekend.

We found the pads did not come with the ring to keep em tight, so Mike made his own. We couldn’t get the after market ones to marry properly, now they’re fitting perfect. Here’s the piece he made in copper, with the pad next to it on its side to show the center opening, the pad seated, and finally all together fitting perfectly. Mike’s like .....lift up on those leaf springs. I’m like OK no problem we’ll that didn’t go so well ummmmm I need more wheaties lol.

I’ve always enjoyed lifting weights and have done so all my life but I didn’t start doing CrossFit until 2 1/2 years ago and it’s been a game changer.

I’m over 50 so I’m not trying to compete and there certain movements I scale back on, I can’t afford to be hurt etc.

It’s made every day task easier’s such as loading and unloading bundles of shingles into the truck or caring 50 pound bag of dog food from the truck into the house etc.

I do like how some of its isometrics but there’s also weight lifting involved.

As you know the key thing especially as we get older is staying active as much as possible and training around old injuries.

I’ve been lifting pretty heavy this year and every so often I will pull something. I try like hell to avoid injuries. Like I said I’ve never been an athlete or coordinated which is why I think I eventually gravitated to lifting.

Still- the competition aspect (against yourself and others) would make CrossFit a lot of fun
