Default 7F6 Round Port HO heads stock take offs

Have had these gems for over 15 years bagged and stored away. Virgin take offs, no milling, porting or surfacing. No pitting in the chambers as you can see, stock valves and hardware in great shape. Matching ate codes "I241" September 24, 1971
Great for a restoration car.

Asking $3400 open to offers, no trades. They are on eBay as well #112232112192

Thanks for looking, Henri...

In the picture of the intake port it looks like the center divider is rusted/pitted and recessed so there wouldn't be a good seal between ports. Is that what I am seeing?

No rust at all, that's the way these are made. The intake ports have that recess cast from the factory. Thanks for looking...

That is a scallop you see on the intake port common wall. They were put there by the factory, no one seems to know why. Most of the original service heads were cast that way.

I bought a new '72 TA and I continued to have a problem with the gasket breaking out of the center between the ports. GM would only replace the gaskets, which they did under warrantee 3 times. I finally glued extra gasket material to the center of the gasket to take up the missing cast iron. I planned to mill the heads as my next solution, milling the decks and then the port gasket face but never got that far. Like was said, no one can come up with a reason for why they did this. The '71 HO heads did not have this problem?????

Last price drop $2200 then back in storage.

I was saving these heads to use in a boosted set up since they have some advantages such as large cc chambers and the center ports not melting. Also the ability to hang a heavy turbo on them. Member 455Turbo went high 9s with these same heads in a heavy 2nd gen bird street car 10 years ago. If doing a turbo set up you might look into these. Thanks for looking and have a Merry Christmas, Henri...
