I agree, it seems like the best of both worlds to me. It's similar to the old format yet the increased contrast makes it a bit easier to read.

I believe the choice is given on which format a member wants to use so piss-off "youngster".

Agreed - shouldn't. Did. Cookies are stored in the pantry around here. I'll deal with it. ...I am a slow adopter to change.

But to that end, I think the H.A.M.B. really effed up the user experience when they changed their format several years ago - and as result, I seldom log on there (which is probably better for those who still do, I suppose...).

The extra color is a distraction, imo.

I can't get past the gray text. I changed back to 2015, just doesn't seem as hard on my eyes. Glad I have the choice.

When my hair turned grey, I hit the default button many, many times. Still not gone!!!. So. New format (so far) does not bother me. So--Hey MA, look at me--I'm a 1017'er!!! LOL.

Looks just fine, but gotta admit it threw me for a loop when I got on today. I am grateful for the site and info!

Here's a question for the IT guy who decided to make the change in the first place:

Why did you do that? (who is served by the change?)

Cartoonish and hard to read the light blue/gray lettering. Gave it a day and a half then switched back.

Don't know why they changed it? It wasn't broke, so why 'fix' it....
Looks like the work of some IT guru with a Porsche, a pony tail & an earring with too much time on his hands.....

The window 10 style white background hurts the eyes.

Wonderful thing about the upgrade to different looks now everybody can find what works for them. For me the 2015 skin provides the right amount of contrast to make easy to read. So I changed back.
