Run out on JW rims?
Just had the JW's restored and put some new tires on the rims. Told by the tech that the machine showed more than extra run out on all four rims. Have any of you guys run into this? Does the construction of the rim (extra out side rim welded to 14-inch center section) cause this? Won't know if there is problem until I drive it at highway speed.
Thanks, Jim |

I would not expect the different size split between wheel spider and rim on the JW to have any impact on this.

Wheel valve stem hole is drilled and located on the small side of total run out and the tires have a yellow dot and are the high side of the run out of the tire. Valve stem and tire dot need to be aligned to get the whole assembly to balance out and run true.
Most if not all tire jockeys will never do this. Causes the most problems with balance and run out..

Interesting, I did not know this. I'm almost done restoring my KR's and the new tires are ready to mount. I had intended to "clock" all the tires the same, but I guess that might not be the right thing to do (balance wise).
