I saw Dream Theater play at Club 9:30 in D.C. in '99 or 2000, I don't remember which....It was the "Scenes From A Memory" Tour.....They ruined it for me! No other band can match them live. I saw Zack Wylde at House of Blues in New Orleans around '05 or '06 and they were great but again, after Dream Theater they all seem like club bands.....

Hope you get your wish. We were lucky to see Tedeschi Trucks a couple years ago outdoors, was a bucket list experience. They will play at Red Rocks in Denver this year. I can only guess what a ticket for that would cost, but might be worth it.

I want to see Five Finger Death Punch and/or Avenged Sevenfold. All the rest are retro acts. Motley Crue is all done, but I'm glad I got to see them just before they hung up their leather and guitars.

Marilyn Manson and Rob Zombie will be coming through town soon. I might hit that one. Manson is one of the last true rock stars who still lives the rock n roll life of debauchery. Most everybody else got all clean and healthy or ended up dead.

A year ago this month (April) my wife and I went to Grand Rapids, Michigan and seen the Def Leppard and Poison Tour with Tesla. It was a great show. Def Leppard still has what it takes to put on a a Great Show, Rick Allen is the Greatest Dummer ( IMO ).

I would have loved that show. I get crap for it, but I loves me some Poison, and I also think Tesla is one of the most underrated rock bands. I've seen Poison a couple of times, and Tesla once back in the late 80's. Def Lep? As long as they stop with anything after Hysteria, and play a limited amount from that album, I'd call it good. They used to be so edgy for their first 3 albums, and then they blew up into a softer poppish band with Hysteria. Pyromania is soooooo awesome.

I meant, Rick Allen is the Greatest Drummer, Sorry For my lack of proof reading. Yes, Hysteria is the Greatest Album !!! Tesla sounded good, but the lead singer was very rude, disrespectful to Def Leppard and Poison, he wouldn’t slap hands with anyone, we couldn’t wait til they finished their set, and most of the crowd was saying the same.

Last August I went to Queen in concert up in Philly. It was good but not great. I really wanted to see ELO this coming August but it was sold out in just a few days.

We saw Gary Clark Jr and Ben Harper last summer here near the beach. Nice outdoor venue and not too crowded, I'm too old for the crowds and stadium shows. Gary Clark was spectacular, and will practically bring tears to your eyes the way he plays guitar.

Saw Alice Cooper last week, 45 years since the first time I saw him.
Might go to REO and Styx this weekend if my race gets washed out.

I mostly have stopped going to concerts. I listen to pretty hard metal and those shows are a young mans game lol.

That said Alestorm is doing a US tour this years. I’ll probably catch that. Its metal but it’s just super fun metal. It’s pirate themed metal.

This past fall I saw Mark Farner of Grand funk Railroad in concert here in Delaware. I was his security for the show at a Country Club benefit for Alzheimer's. But then again I get to see him a couple of times a year for the past several years, and became friends He was here for New Years Eve of 2017 at a "private" concert playing with Club Phred. He even took me for a ride in my GTO on New Years morning. He's the only one I've ever let drive it.

Also Felix Cavilari of the Young Rascals playing at Club Phred this past summer and the past few years... less tho than Mark.

It's funny how I grew up in the wilds of Northern NY with no chance in hell of ever going to a concert to see these guys but listened to their music thru the years, and then 45 years later meet up with them. Never in a million years did I ever think that would happen.

Any of you guys personally know any rock stars and who are they? I'm sure some of you have.

Anthony, back then GFR was the band to see. They were hot. But they screwed over Mark and got him out of the band by hook and crook. And stole everything he had written with no monetary reimbursement to him. If I ever get near GFR concert I will stand out front with a huge sign saying... "No Farner No Funk!". There are several of us that know him that will do the same. He's one great guy, and his wife Lisa is one great lady. Their son is a paraplegic that they take care. Money is in short supply for a task like that, and we do all we can for the Farner family.

That last part about his son you didn't hear from me, but its true

Since my race at VIR had bad weather I skipped it and we decided to go to the REO Speedwagon, Styx concert last night. Pretty good show for a bunch of old guys. REO lead singer said they first came to Greenville as an opening act for Black Oak Arkansas back in 1972. Wow, that was a long time ago and I was at that show.
At intermission the men's bathroom line was way out the door, some younger guy asked what the deal was with the Men's being backed up. I said look at the demographics of this show, lot of Prostate issues here tonight. I thought he was going to loose it and pee himself he was laughing so hard.

Wife and I are going to see Lissie at the 9:30 Club in DC over Memorial Day Weekend. This will be the second time we've seen her live - the girl can sing!
