Default WTB - 1974 T/A Heater Control Cables

I can't seem to locate these new or reproduction (someone correct me if I'm wrong).

Looking for the heater control cables for a 1974 Trans Am non-AC car.

Thanks - Peter.

Anyone have any or know where I could source some? I really only need the cable that controls the heat, but I would take the one that controls the vents as well - particularly if they're available somewhere NOS or reproduced. Good used ones would work too.

Had no luck with the forum sponsor.

No clue on correctness or quality.

Errrr yeah .

Not as easy a job as I'd hoped. I have the old cables out, and that's taken me the best part of two hours. The hot/cold control cable is easy enough, but the one that controls the defrost position is a mission. I had to remove the console and loosen the plastic vent duct at the bottom to even stand a chance of getting to that one.

I pretty much have everything out of the dash except the speedometer cluster.

Re-assembly next.

For anyone else looking for cables for a non-AC bird, the ones I ordered from Firebird Central worked fine (big thanks to HFR).

Here's the cables that arrived;

Completely different style than the OEM cables, but the length clips and mounting points all worked fine. You can see the clip on my original defrosted cable had broken in two;

Lots of work to get these in and out - absolutely had to remove the console and loosen the defrost ducting lower bolt to get to the one cable end. While I had the heater control unit out I cleaned it up a bit and re-greased it all.
