THREE ATI Super Dampers on my stuff. One is a custom 10 rib Supercharger Hub deal built into the damper ring. (3 engines).

ATI is all I run no matter the purpose of the motor...They are just real dang good balancers and really easy company to work with.If you have any questions call them great bunch of people.

I know nothing about a damper, so can someone explain the difference between the ATI and any other damper? What makes it so much better?

Don't you have to re-drill the pulleys to use the ATI damper?

What would be one step down from the ATI, for a street/strip motor? Romac?

It looks like the ati is a 3 bolt and our pontiacs are 4 bolt. The big question is does the ati still have a hub that the pulley registers on? If so the holes dont have to be perfect and can be done with a hand drill.

Yes it has a hub that a stock pulley will center on.

The stock pulley would need re-drilled.
Could use a chevy type, but not sure about alignment.

Any kind of racing usually requires a SFI damper.

Don't know about that one.

I bought the Romac a few years ago (steel hub, aluminium outer) would not fit with a Moon or stock timing cover. Emailed them with CAD drawings and photos showing the areas of interference. They told me they were CNC machined so couldn't we wrong LOL.
Showed them all the info again and reply was "what do you expect me to do about it ?".
NEVER AGAIN !.
