1964 GTO Convertible Door Wedge Set
I searched for a post on this and didn’t find anything, but feel free to point me in the right direction.
The convertible door jamb alignment wedge set. Presume 64s had them, my car is missing them. Are they same as the 65s and 66 cars? I called Trim Parts,, they don’t list them specifically and had no insights. , I was planning to order their Trim Parts 4578 kit from summit, which looks the same as what some suppliers are advertising as a 64 A body kit, as well it’s the one for 65 and 66s. Any insights would be a much appreciated

I would talk to Scott Tiemann and see if he has any suggestions on acquiring the wedge sets and if he has a specific supplier he has used in the past on his restorations.

I am not familiar w/ the convertible GTO but on a full frame car, do you really need them? I put subframe connectors on my wifes 69 Firebird Convertible and have no need for the wedges. even when I jack the car up, the door does not pinch. Just curious.....

You need them on convertibles, at least in 64.

As Bobby said above ^^^^^.
At least 1964 thru 1967 Tempest Series “Convertibles” came with these door alignment wedges. At the top of the door is a brass wedge fastened with two screws. At the top of the door “jam” is a hard plastic wedge fastened with two screws. These wedges help stabilize the “Convertible” car from flexing. Hardtop cars do not need these. They seem to be readily available at restoration suppliers. Chris.

Thanks all for the comments, I have no doubt they are needed, my question is are these correct for a 64, the on line info is ambiguous at best. I’ll try the guy in Michigan, thanks again
