$77.8K and no reserve right now, 1 day 7 hr left. I would have thought an SD Formula would have been equipped with a formula steering wheel. Now that I think about it, my 78 wasn't but it was a 305 from the factory.

Shill bidders

This car is not worth 80 grand and will not sell AGAIN. Knock 15 to 20 grand off and maybe it will have real bidders/buyers. Plenty of more investible cars out there for 80 grand. The seller is either fishing or watches too much TV.

A White/Saddle 73 SD Formula Automatic AC sold privately several months ago for over 100k.
Asking price was like 139k iirc
It was listed on here for sale, and didn't take too long to sell.

I don't know the caliber of this car, but it must be pretty nice.
If it is a "needs nothing/no excuses" type car, 80k is a Good Price.

White and Silver were the top 2 colors in production of the 73 SD Formula's.
All of them were special ordered by customers in their choice of color.
And those are about the only 2 colors that ever come up for sale in great/excellent condition.

The lower production colors never seem to come up for sale.
Those cars are EXTREMELY coveted by their owners, and not going anywhere anytime soon.

He just has to find a qualified buyer who likes Silver cars.

For me, a 73 SD Formula, especially a 4spd would be close to the top of my "If I Won The Lottery" or "Got Real Lucky In The Market" lists; as would a 62 Cat SD

There was a white on saddle with white vinyl top car that sold on ebay a couple years ago for around $60,000. The other one that recently sold had 18,000 orig miles and was advertised at $189,000.

There was another White/Black interior Auto AC - no Tach no Gauges sold in past few years. (2014 Mecum @ 86k)

A couple of Silver ones up for sale.

An export car that had TA flares and whatnots - forgot its color - probably white or silver, was for sale a couple times.

None of them have been POCI white glove cars at time of sale.

The AdmiralBlue/Black Auto Non-AC 1 Owner Project that sold recently has been the only non-silver/non-white Formula to pop up in a number of years.

The last non-silver/non-white Formula i can recall was the AdmiralBlue 4 Speed that Rick Mahoney restored. I don't know where or how he found that one.
The 73 SD Formula's of color are in deep hiding.

I think a Florentine Red one made the public eye a few years ago on display somewhere.

They have 28 of 43 on the Registry
Five 4 speeds missing, Ten Autos missing

Nunzi's Navajo car isn't listed, so only Nine Autos are unaccounted

About 1 hour 15 minutes to go
14 different bidders, with 17 total bids
100+ watchers
No Reserve

ol' 666 looks like its probably going to a new resting place soon

Or, relisted because of non-paying bidder or some such nonsense.

Some people just don't get it or don't understand "Shill Bidders".

As stated before by myself and others, this car is ridiculously priced and shill bidders isn't going to help or work.

Maybe someone will listen > https://wolfstreet.com/2020/06/15/cl...s-hit-hardest/

If you're talking about the "Enrico Stein" unrestored, original paint, 19,000 mile car, it sold very quickly once word got out it was available. But you're comparing apples and oranges.

A 100% untouched Vintage Time Capsule Award SD455 isn't a proper comparable to a restored car or even a street car. It was an anomaly: a once in a lifetime find. The only other comparable to it was the 1,700 mile red SD455 T/A that is now in the Brothers Collection. I think that sold for $250K over ten years ago. Coincidentally they scored within 1/3 of a point of each at the MCACN Vintage Certification judging.

Enrico's car was advertised here and on the Yenko.net site in January and sold in February:

Yes , the car you sold was the reference.

Big difference between 190k asking- and 80k asking, as well.
Or even my blunder of 139k

I think a POCI winner with high level of quality and correctness is worth 80k , if that car is of that full quality.

Being a Formula and being an Automatic shouldn't ruin the value
Was my focus .
It didn't ruin the value of yours.

Silver hurts this car, overall, in my eyes.
But to the many folks who like Silver pretty well - its not a detractor.
He just has to find a Silver guy with the money to spend.

The bidding didn't look shilled with 14 separate bidders, but maybe he/they went to that length of orchestration. It would be a pair of black-eyes to the owner if it was staged that way. I would rather hope not, but i don't know the owner.

I hope the car is sold and heading to a new home.

I listed my old car for sale on here one night, and the next afternoon i was getting a deposit wired into my bank account.
This guy could do a lot better job of promoting and presenting his vehicle if it really is/was for sale. imho

My mind is trying to say there was another one same color that had White SD-455 on the shaker. A few years back (which could mean 3-10 years ago)
And it was Real Shiny

I like that color combo.
Missed out on a hard loaded 73 455 D-Port RamAir Automatic Formula in the 1990's locally - with that same combo. (actually missed getting it 3 separate times !)
