I considered an aftermarket block and I'm probably going that route on my next build. I think my machine shop bill is going to be around 2000 all in.. This being a used rotating assembly and my numbers matching block to my 69 gto I wanted to build it but not go rediculous with the power. I will probably run this for a season or two pull my highports and have them ported for the new block.

If you ever have a problem with your machine shop,try Carlquist Competition Engines in Oakville,CT.
They know Pontiacs really well,their dyno is as acuurate as they come,and they are a bunch of great,humble guys. Last time I was down there,there was a nasty Pontiac engine that runs in the 4.80 range.
