All I know is that's been for sale a few times, last time I think for around $65-75k.
Very nice Formy, love the black color, adds to an already rare car. I would trade my SD trans am for it in a sec. |

It was very nice to see the seller attempt to point out all the technical inaccuracies and items (underside paint, rocker trim, rims on it, etc). If all sellers were like that it would be awesome. Nice Car, black works well with 74 bumpers.

That is my old SD. I sold it to the guy in California. He just sold it a couple of years ago for some where in the 60s

It says they removed the A/C? Did they put a non A/C heater box in its place? They also must have removed the dash vents, too.

The A/C was all up and running when I sold it. Everything was there and working.

from the ad The previous owner lived in California and decided to take off the A/C, as he said there was no need for it in California. I don't know why someone here in CA would remove a working A/C system.... It gets pretty hot here in the summers...unless the guy lived on the coast.

I'm pretty sure I remember seeing the ad for this one when it was for sale in the California Auto Trader about 2-3 years ago for $65k. I believe it was discussed briefly in the '74-76 Forum or maybe here.
It does look like the more recent owner removed all the a/c from the firewall out, added the heater only firewall cover and even changed out the wood grain dash bezel to non-a/c. Left the a/c controls and a/c kick panels in place.

Is it originally a black car? Did it have "- -" on the cowl tag for the paint code? Just curious.

It is originally a black car. I had a letter from Jim Madison saying it was a black car and one of 2 and he never saw another one like it. I gave that letter with the new owner when I sold it to the guy in California. The other black one was in Canada and has deluxe interior. The A/C was removed by the guy in California. I never understood why cause it was on the PHS

I hate it when people don't put all of the pictures in the auction...and link it to an outside picture hosting source...especially on an expensive car.... Lazy Lazy IMO...
I think all of photobucket is contaminated. I have some pictures there and always have problems when I go there.

The other Black Formula SD car traded hands a few years ago also and is the car from Canada. As far as I know it is in NJ.

how do you go and look to see what has been added to your computer? thanks in advance. ps- what kind of Trojan horse is it loading?

I think I saw this one in person at the Donut Derelicts car show/cruise in CA a few years ago.
The heater box on the firewall looks to be the aftermarket kind designed to cover the A/C hole. Removing a complete/functioning AC system on a rare and valuable car...? Odd.

It was called "Suspicious.Cloud9" and tried to download itself as an Adobe update. It was disguised in the arrow you click to move to the next photo.

Curious to see if the seller will let the auction run to the end.... Be interesting to see where the final bid ends up. When I bought mine... I got the seller to stop the auction..

Never did understand what the old owner removed the air cause when he looked at the car he was checking the originality. So that being said why would you remove an option like that from a numbers matching car. He'll if you don't need A/C in California just don't turn it on. Simple

If the guy did'nt want A/C on an SD-455 Formula with an Automatic he should have looked for one instead of removing it. Wait that's harder to find than a 4spd. SD-455.
