Default Air cleaner for Ram Air Formula

I have a '73 Formula 350 with the original motor but it has an Edlebrock intake and Edlebrock 600 carby on it. Does anyone know if the original ram air air cleaner assembly will still fit? I'm guessing clearance may be an issue.

Any thoughts?

George

I would be surprised if it did not fit. The carburetor will require a special fuel inlet fitting. I believe they called it a "banjo" fitting.

My advice would to be to put a Quadrajet back on it first. Then make it a Ram Air...

I ran a performer intake with spacer and quadrajet and RA air cleaner on Formula. It made it taller than stock and had to use conventional nut, not wing nut to clear hood. You should be fine without spacer (maybe) to use wing nut. In your case I would wonder about carb to air cleaner fit, I don't know edelbrock carbs.......

The performer intake is identical to stock height.
The Performer RPM is NOT. It is too tall.
Your carb is correct height too but will Not fit under a stock or aftermarket drop base WU3 Ram Air Air cleaner.
You will need a Q jet ( prefer 77-79) or a 77 Dual Jet to make it work correctly with no mods. The dual jet is more jetted for that 2bbl engine and is a 2bbl. that is made from a Q-Jet casting. Allows stock looking set up but 2bbl.

Formulabruce got me curious about this. So I took a couple of AFB carbs off the shelf and test fit them with a 73 TA air cleaner base. You need a banjo fuel inlet fitting and a manual choke or no choke. The model with the electric choke won't fit.
