That's great. But the Greek's got nearly twenty years on him. And still qualifying... sometimes.

Absolutely, he is amazing. Would like to meet him some day. Had a chance about 10 years ago at the US Nationals but he was away from his pit. He IS the iron man of nitro.

Your right. Shouldn't have left Don Garlits out. He is active, just not in the pro ranks currently. He has been driving Drag Pack Challengers on and off in NHRA Stock trim. He has also been the driving force behind the electric dragster promotional movement. Not for me personally, but he has been working toward breaking the 200 MPH barrier in an electric dragster. Arnie and Garlits together talking about the old days is a great dinner table to be sitting at just listening. Garlits is a very nice man as well, very down to earth.

I didn't forget Garlits- his racing dates as far back as Arnie and Chris. But I don't believe he's spent quite as much time at it as they have.

If you're at the same restaurant with one of these folks and want to meet them, pick up the check for their table. That's how we met up with Don Garlits in 2018!

I got to met Don at the last IHRA race at Tulsa, not long ago. His Christian testimony is awesome. He had a potential sponsor, when he was still a competitor in NHRA drag racing. The company person in charge agreed to some sort of a sponsorship, but wanted Don to take the biblical verse off his car.... Don told the guy, no compromise! Don lost that sponsor, wouldn’t budge! It didn’t phase Don!

Man, when I met Don at Tulsa, his hearing was about 95 percent gone. I had to yell at him, so he could hear me...
