Default 1970 3 ply sheetmetal joint

This for the front body corners There is 3 ply spot welds I took off the outer cover and am taking off the inner piece that is still tacked to the body panel.

My question is this spot welded through all 3 so I use spot weld bit in the same place as I used for the outer piece.

2,3 or more just drill through all but the bottom layer. When you fit and clamp new pieces drill through all but bottom layer for plug welds. Turn up the heat for extra layers and try to start centered so you get good penet ration on bottom layer.
