Just listened to a young dr talk about how complex covid 19 can be the way it attacks different parts of the body. Diagnosis can be complex. They are getting a picture but incomplete. Interesting information. So maybe time ,our health will help all of us enjoy our hobby. If the Tripower Nationals are postponed or canceled.

That's WWII veteran's in the US right? "The Hoover Institution reports more than 1,000 veterans from “The Greatest Generation” are dying each day."

Get your statistics right.

Open up the country and let the chips fall as they might. You were born to die, and die you will - war, diseases, pollution, accidents, animals/bugs, terrorists, over doses, poisoning, medical conditions, stress, cancers, murder, organ failure, and my mother's cooking.

Life/living has no guarantees, it's all a random chance that you survive to become old and grey and pass away in your sleep at a ripe old age, let alone without any medical conditions. Deal with it.

Why wouldn't the tracks, and everything else open up? To what end or goal is everything closed now? At the beginning, it was to "flatten the curve"; so the hospitals didn't get overwhelmed (they didn't come close). At least that was a reasonable goal with an objective in mind. Now though....are we going to stay closed till a vaccine is produced? No, then what is the goal now?? Open up!! Let people make their own choices whether to participate in an event, go to a business, etc. That's called freedom, and individual responsibility. Seems like a foreign concept to many today.

I guess we’ll just have to wait until Monday at 9am to find out if it’s going to happen. If it is I’ll be there!

This ends my 28 year in a row run. I plan of driving my GTO to the track anyways. Just because.

Dear Pontiac Fans,

The 29th annual Ames Performance Tri-Power Pontiac Nationals, scheduled for July 31st, August 1st and 2nd of 2020, at Summit Racing Equipment Motorsports Park in Norwalk, Ohio, has been cancelled.

Due to the uncertainty of continued corona-virus restrictions, we will not be able to provide the level of service and entertainment our fans have come to expect. We deeply regret having to make this decision and wish that we could run the event as scheduled.

For the past 28 years, Super Duty Promotions, Ames Performance, and Summit Motorsports Park have strived to bring the Pontiac enthusiast community the best opportunity to participate, and socialize, with all our Pontiac friends. The requirements for social distancing could not be met without severely restricting the number of participants who would be allowed to attend, and this is simply not an acceptable situation.

We will announce the 2021 dates at PontiacNationals.com and on our Facebook page, when we have them. As of this date, Summit Motorsports Park does not have permission to open. See our website for additional information regarding advanced sales for 2021, or refunds for the 2020 event.

Sincerely,

Pete & Andi Woodruff

Super Duty Promotions, Ltd.

With the track unable to even do a "soft" opening as of yet, I guess I am not surprised. The Pontiac event, possibly more than many others they run there would be really hard to "social distance". Since there are so few fans in the stands, who could be spread out, the vast majority at the Pontiac event is concentrated out on the grounds, in the pits, car show and swap meet. It's the Super Bowl of Pontiac events. Another in the long list of cancelled events in this "lost summer".

Looks like Norwalk has cancelled the whole 2020 season! As big as it is, it needs car count and spectators to open!
