1969 GTO OWNERS, THIS SHOULD BRIGHTEN YOUR DAY!! Performance Years is very close to releasing and having in stock non-Hideaway Headlight Bezels and Trunk Lids for 1969 owners. Both samples have been approved and both are now in production. By the fall, both should be in stock and available. Pre-orders can be placed now! The 1969 Bezels are chromed and painted matte black in the all correct areas. These bezels have been tested multiple times on straight 1969 bumpers and satisfaction is guaranteed. The trunk lid has also been tested on several 1969 cars. Most recently we tested it on an original 1969 Judge at the GTOAA Nationals. The 1969 owners raved about the fitment. Judges were saying "This lid fits nicer than most of the originals in concourse judging area." It's time for all of us to start thinking outside the box and start planning for change. Attendance at the GTOAA Nationals celebrating 50 years of GTO's MUST draw more than 200 GTO's! I personally counted every car on show day and the total was 197. That included 21 2004-2006 GTO's and another 22 'other' Pontiacs. That's outdoor and indoor. That's both rooms. GTO owners are still out there. I estimate that there should be 100,000 counting clones, Tempest and Lemans. They have cars that I'm sure they are proud of but there are reasons why they choose not to bring their car to a convention. One reason for poor attendance or manpower is that there are too many small local clubs! Notice in 2008 how smart business's pooled resources to counter lagging sales because of poor economy. This practice continues with most successful businesses. Mergers and acquisitions are allowing otherwise ailing businesses to not only survive but thrive. Look closely around the muscle car hobby itself. There are a bunch of business's being bought, sold and merged to remain profitable. The same thing should happen with our clubs. If you merge clubs, you have more manpower to put on a National show. There is power in numbers! Then when you have a National event......YOU MEAN IT! It's big and it's something that you DON'T want to miss! And both the local Chapter and the National Chapter must do a better job of promoting the event and giving more reasons why it shouldn't be missed. Look no further than the Co-vention. The size of both of those shows was greater than the average GTOAA and POCI convention put together. That shows you that there is power in numbers and strength in merging (combining resources). People want to see and be a part of something BIG! 2015 PY OPEN HOUSE DATES ANNOUNCED The 2014 Performance Years & Pypes Exhaust Open House was a great success. Despite some scattered showers on Friday, Saturday was a beautiful day for some car shows. We had hundreds of Pontiacs attend and just as many other examples of American Muscle. We got a lot of great compliments from the people who attended. One of our main goals of the event, besides trying to show everyone that attends a good time, is to raise money for our charities. This year we raised money for the ALS Association of Philadelphia, The Susquehanna Valley GTO Club, The Garden State GTO Club and The Souderton High School Boys Basketball Team. Each of these groups has a special place in the hearts of the PY & Pypes employees and we thank everyone who helps us support them each year.
