Those were my thoughts before I got mine. The Quickjacks have two locked heights. The lower one is perfect for working on brakes, etc. while sitting on a stool. The higher height is perfect for rolling under on a creeper, or just sliding in on your back. The entire bottom of the car is unobstructed.

A scissors lift blocks the bottom of the car, and the lift height just seems awkward. Too high to lay on your back, too low to stand up. Working with your arms up in the air while sitting on a stool while trying to work around some cross-braces didn't seem like my idea of fun. Also, a scissors lift takes up a lot more room to store.

Not to mention that if your garage is nor very tall that can constrain how high you can lift the car anyway.

that's the one I have on order. They are on back order right now. I also added the SUV extensions for my JEEP and I guess I could also use them to get the Pontiac extra high if need

I've toyed with getting one of these for years. How about this one? 30" lift height with three separate stopping heights. Don't know what those are...

That looks like a clunkier version of Quickjacks. Less versatile, far heavier, not portable at all.

I hate to sound like a Quickjacks fanboy but I guess I kind of am.... Best $1340 I've spent on car/garage/tools stuff. My only regret is that I didn't get them sooner.

The final decision maker for me was when I got my Aston Martin - there is just no way to work on this car using jack stands., some sort of low-profile lift is a necessity. It only has 3-1/4" of ground clearance and the Quickjacks just fit underneath. The photo shows the lift at the lower of the 2 lock positions.

I was thinking the same thing.

Ok, good response...Portability would be a huge asset for me. The Autolift weighs a hefty 700 pounds (shipping weight).
I did not see a weight on the Ranger...what would you estimate that to be?

Plus, the Quickjack has rollers on one end of each section so you don't have to pick up the whole thing to move it.

Cool. This might be a good investment for me since in the last year I had a concrete pad and carport installed off my driveway. Pad's not thick enough for a real lift but this would work and I can move it back and forth between the carport and garage. Plus, if I move, it goes with me.

Here's another awesome thing about the Quickjacks - here we are at the racetrack fixing our Chump Car. Small and light enough to be portable, and with the 12V power source it is easily powered by a cheap battery jump box.

I'm really liking this piece of equipment. After I get some tires for the truck, I'm going to start saving my nickels for this. Thanks for the good info.

Here's another picture, right after I assembled it, from a different perspective. My driveway's a little angled, so I don't think I'd leave it here, but it shows the space underneath.

Sorry for the Ford picture on a Pontiac website.

I finally set up my new 7000 quick jack. Pretty cool. HEAVY.

Does anyone know if it matters whether I leave the lines connected or not when not in use?

Per Quick Jack's instructions, the lines can be disconnected. Each time I use mine I disconnect the lines.
