Bringing back up to the top for those still putting off.

Dealing with left lower back, butt, and leg(pinched nerve) pain for 10-15 years. Usually only lasts a day or two. Sometimes a week or more.
Then last winter the pain lasted a month before couldn't deal with it. Also weight loss for no reason except not eating as much, but more healthy. No fast foods except Subway cause all the others made me feel crummy.

Blood test and chest x-ray(smoke cigars) came back all good.
MRI on lower disc's showed something according to Tech.
Muscle relaxers took care of problem in a few days, so stopped taking them(No pain killers cause don't like the effect). Pain free for months along with some weight gain, so didn't go back to doc.

Now it's flared up again for no reason, but different.
No experience of sudden pitched nerve shooting across hip and down back of thigh. More of just a constant dull muscle ache/tension in same location PLUS now a tennis ball size on/off ache on same front side.

May have nothing to do with colon, but that's next test on the list.
Called Internal Medicine Monday and got lucky. They had a cancellation for tomorrow.
Sure gon'a miss my beer and bourbon tonight...

RW,

What was the radiology report? What you're describing sounds like a compressed nerve root. PM me....

hh62, never went back to discuss it cause pain went away this past 6 months.
Go'n on 56, doc wanted me scooped at the time cause never had done.
Figured since they could get in right away vs waiting 2-3 weeks, do it first.
Let you know what they find when back here on Saturday.

Thanks, Mike

Good news.

Good for 5 yrs.

Next is a specialist for lower back disc/nerve.

Rob.
Lost 35-37lbs since retiring from volunteer FD.
Bout same time lost job when dumb ass motors(GM) closed all the dealers. Did lot more physical work back then.
Mostly now work on computer 85-90 hours a week past 10-11 yrs.

So far diag is hypertension. And always had high metabolism. Not a good combo I'm told...
BTY, only can sleep 5-6 hrs a night.

Would think having a kegerator in garage would keep weight on...

After having some swallowing issues before the colonoscopy tests date I ended up with an endoscopy and a colonoscopy on the same morning. Doc took out 3 "pre-cancerous" polyps from the colon. He felt like they were nothing but I've yet to hear the results. The endoscopy revealed a hyatal hernia that he's treating initially with Prilosec. My radiation 5 years ago was in that general area but he didn't see that as an issue after the endoscopy.
