71 TA on eBay -- nice docs / low miles...
.... OK the low mileage doesn't mean much with this one. A real sad dog story.
But interesting that it has both the Body and Chassis broadcast sheets still with it. Very unusual to have those with these cars... https://www.ebay.com/itm/1971-Pontia...YAAOSwxlxd4E6S

It's crusty, but it has so much going for it! I hope it finds a good home and is resurrected!!

there was a discussion about same '71 a while back. Listed on Craigslist, twice. later the seller joined PY, & several of us commented on condition & i remember advising to take the time to pull the engine, disassemble, & note the damage, then one would know what he was up against. The engine was definitely a Waterdog. drivers side 197 head was severely rust damaged where #1 exhaust flange met the exhaust manifold. At the time, my thought was wish it was a factory Lucerne blue M22 project, as it should go reasonable & I have a TON of Original parts to save such a '71. Hindsight, glad it wasn't as have enough projects not needing near that amt of metalwork.

This one hasn't had its engine in it in a long time - story says it's been in a garage. Yep. Original engine, great documentation, nice spec -- sure would be nice to see it restored.

That car is for the young and enthusiastic. Not for the old and jaded.

I wouldn't lose any sleep sending this car to the crusher. One thing I've learned in the last 10 years is that life is WAY too short to be dealing with rusty and old junk cars. If I could get all the time and money back I wasted in my 20's and early 30's ...

i think this would be another great candidate for another "rust free" type thread...

It was in North Carolina. Engine had always been in the car - and still was. I kept pondering to go see it, possibly get it -sanitize and investigate it thoroughly- then Flip It. But was afraid i would end up keeping it somehow. Don't know what happened with that car, but he was a motivated seller. Tried to find the threads on it. But can't find them. Thought it had one in this section and one in the For Sale section. |

No Title on the West Virginia subject car.
Wonder if it still has the original lien against it from when it was bought new ? And the seller doesn't want to expend on getting it cleared It is an exceptionally odd scenario listed about its history. Would have been during the oil embargo era too |

I think he started @ $12.5k but ended up at less than $4k. Not sure if he sold it or not? |

No title is an issue, you can restore someone else's car and then hand them the keys...

Man that poor thing was so sad. Not even a base mustang deserved that much neglect and punishment. It was going to need EVERYTHING to come from a donor car, plus some more TA stuff, then a big roll of the dice on the drivetrain. Feel almost certain he was able to sell it though. |

Gotta love all that paperwork though! And almost the polar opposite condition of the car itself.

I was all set to buy the NC TA but the seller refused to give me directions on where to go to see it. I wanted to see the car first to insure that everything in the pictures was still there before I paid him.
Despite me asking for directions multiple times, he kept saying we'd meet at his bank, I'd pay him, then we'd go to the car. Uhh.... no that's not how this works so it was a Red flag for me. I backed out as I'm not going to drive 10 hours just to the heck of it. He got mad and told me he was being %100 honest with me but still no directions.

Wild ordeal on this vehicle, things happen from A to Z and whatever remains is the only balance that can be had in the end. All those documents from new managed to be kept intact and in good shape. Except ..... the Title to the Car ? |
