Lightbulb Looking for a timing pointer for a 78 TA.

Need one for my 78 TA. Parts catalogs don’t have them for a 400.

I thought Inline boys repos it. Get ahold of Firedan at my place. He has like 12 parts cars. He just took care of me on a few things.

No didn’t do anything on this one yet, it was missing the pointer when we got it. I’m told it’s a plastic piece for a 78, and the car has a 400 in it. Parts catalogs have it for others but not 400.

Don’s right. It’s cast into the timing cover.

My original 1978 W72 engine doesn’t have the plastic pointer, but don’t let Frank know that.

Tell frank I have the same one in the pic in mine. No one said w72. Looks like he’s out of stock, they are plastic, they break easy.
Bob, you had other incorrect parts on your car I have noticed.

So, this car is missing the timing pointer, I’m told it should be the plastic one although there is a 400 in this car it is not a numbers matching car, the engine is from a different model car. We really don’t want a plastic piece but evidentially the metal one is not the correct piece. This engine code is XH.

The plastic pointer is GM part number 527065.

These were only used on the low performance 350 and 400's 1976-1978.

The W72 used the traditional balancer with corresponding cast cover as shown by BWB...

Yeah but mine is a 400. I’ll ask Mike later and let you know if this is correct for my car.

Thanks!

Ok I’ll let you know on this as now the motors origin is in question. Didn’t think this was going to be so confusing.
